The third episode of the actual play write-up of my game set in an upcoming Arabian-nights themed setting book called Al-Rathak: Tales of the Crescent Kingdoms
Thanks! My co-creator Charles wrote all the content and amazing encounters! I was a big fan of the Efreet’s Emissary demanding we answer his riddle, classic fable stuff.
Ha! I got so excited when I read the riddle (meant to say this before), and felt terribly self satisfied being able to answer it... Well done to Charles! I've never gotten around to reading Arabian Nights, but I'm definitely going to rewatch some Sinbad films as a result of your zine.
I laughed out loud when I saw your recently purchased rations rapidly depleted by the hungry rescued pirates. I bet you thought 9 rations would last a while when you bought them. Nope.
Shouldn't the Sea King have given Khalid a greater gift than the one he gave the King? It makes the King look weak if his subjects are richer than he is.
thanks for checking it out! The Idea is more akin to needing to present a gift to even enter the same room as the Sultans as a lowborn adventurer. Even the richest common-born merchants of the city must shower the Sultan in gifts to be allowed in his presence. Real over the top sword and sorcery stuff lol! The table also has really high-tier possibilities of rewards from him, things like a Manor and your own warship and crew and a noble title, etc. The only way to get those rewards is by having a high modifier on the roll by giving great gifts. I happened to roll the lowest reward tier :(
This time, I'm returning to Anisped having found the Isles and much much more! (No spoilers but a lot more +modifiers) :)
Highly enjoyable read. The encounters and riddle were exciting. A lovely setting sailing on the sea.
Fantastic, in every sense! I love the POIs and encounters - the crystal clear waters and a flying horse were super atmospheric, and romantic!

the sinbad films were our main inspiration :)

I know right!
